I am very excited, because you will soon be able to purchase Squibble & Co. designs from a brand new store opening on Cuba St in Wellington this Saturday!

Matchbox Studios is an art gallery run by Cherry Holahan and Lauren Whalley, which incorporates a hand-made boutique and also a photography studio. You can find work by local and international artists and crafters in the gallery and shop.

I visited the gallery o Friday to drop off my designs and set up my booth. If you are following me on Instagram, you will have seen my photo-progress posts featuring the hand-stitched bunting and cushion covers I made for the miniature chairs.

Here are photos of the props in situ, with all the jewellery set up and looking fantastic!

I wanted the theme of my display to tie in with the look of my table set-up at craft markets. I accomplished this by using fake grass on the base of the booth and the same type of paper doilies. My aim was the make the interior of my booth to look like a miniature picnic, so that people would want to lean in for a closer look at all the delicious goodies!

There is an launch party on Saturday May 19th, 6.30pm-10pm, to celebrate the opening of the gallery and the first exhibition: ‘Strike One’.
